SemiConductor is a music-making experience with two parts, related but independent of one another— one part is an interactive physical installation, the other a VR experience. The VR experience is a virtual synthesizer with unique control interfaces, which drives the sound of a note sequencer.
The title SemiConductor is a reference to the material found in computer chips, as well as semi-conductor, as in a musical conductor who cedes some control, in this case to the computer.
SemiConductor is my master’s thesis project at School of Visual Arts’ MFA Computer Arts program
